We believe people don't simply attend isolated events. They build relationships with the organizers, institutions, and communities that shape the cultural life of their cities. Portal exists to strengthen those relationships.
The platform began in Milan, where cultural life is defined not only by its museums and institutions, but by the countless spazi, pop-ups, galleries, storefronts, collectives, venues, and independent organizers that continually create opportunities for cultural participation.
Milan revealed a simple but persistent problem: while discovering an organizer or event was easy, keeping up with an organizer's ongoing program was not.
None were designed to be the home for a public program.
Portal was built to fill that space.
Today, organizers use Portal to publish and share their programs, while participants follow the people and institutions they trust through a personalized interface designed around relationships rather than algorithms.
Portal was founded in Milan by Iyad and Dag and is being developed independently, one organizer and one city at a time.
We're building and growing deliberately, in direct conversation with the organizers and communities we're designing for.
